Do you need a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of daily life in the city? Get away from it all at our cottage nestled in the trees over-looking the Brazos River. Relax on the deck with your ice tea and watch the canoers go by. Accomodations include a fully furnished living area, two bedrooms, one bath, and an all electric kitchen, with central heat and air conditioning. Dishes and linens are provided, as well as fresh bread, eggs, and smoked sausage. All you need to bring are your clothes, and addtional food. |

In historic West, one may enjoy Czech restaurants and bakeries as well as antique shopping. Waco offers many find restaurants, galleries, and museums, and Lake Whitney, where many water sports are enjoyed, is only minutes away. You will find addtional restaurants and unique shops in the nearby town of Whitney. We also offer canoeing, kayaking, and exploring of Sydell's Pottery Shop. We are conveniently located on Hwy 2114 south of the DFW area. From Dallas take I 35-E to West and exit right on 2114. We are on the right immediately after crossing the Brazos River. (approximately 12 miles west of West) From Hillsboro take Hwy 22 to Laguna Park. Turn left on Hwy 56 for two miles then go left on Hwy 2114. Dick's Pace is on the left just before you cross the river. (approximately 8 miles south of Lake Whitney) Distance from major cities ... 80 miles south of Dallas, 30 miles north of Waco, 175 miles north of Austin, 220 miles from Houston, and 270 miles from San Antonio. (See map here) Rates: The cottage is available at a rate of $95.00 per night, double occupancy (plus tax). Each additional person is $15.00 per night (plus tax).  Maximum occupancy 6 persons. Weekly, monthly, and Winter rates available upon request. House Rules: Check in after 2:00 P.M. Check out by 11:00 A.M. Children under 12 require advance notice. Smoking and ice chest on deck only No pets Not responsible for injuries, loss, or theft. If you need special arrangements please let us know. Reservation Policy: A $100.00 deposit is required to confirm your reservation. The deposit is refundable (less a 20% cancellation fee) if cancelled more than ten days prior to scheduled arrival. The deposit is not refunded if cancellation is within 10 days of the scheduled arrival date unless we are able to rent to another customer. Two night minimum is required.
